20pc Self Tapping Thread Insert M3 M5

20-piece carbon steel self-tapping thread insert kit with internal M3×0.5 and external M5×0.5 threading. Material: 302 carbon steel with galvanized surface. Each unit is dimensionally accurate to ISO 965-1 tolerances, ensuring interchangeability and fit consistency across batches. The design prioritises mechanical retention over chemical bonding — relying on thread deformation and radial expansion for secure anchoring in base material. Installation requires drilling to nominal diameter, followed by insertion using a dedicated manual tool and final depth setting with hex wrench. The process avoids heat input, substrate weakening or residue left by adhesives — making it suitable for temperature-sensitive or cleanliness-critical applications. Ideal for restoring threads in electronics enclosures, instrument panels, access covers and adjustable mechanisms where repeated assembly/disassembly is expected. Deployed across UK and European manufacturing, maintenance and prototyping workflows — particularly valued in SME workshops lacking CNC tapping capability, and in mobile field service teams needing compact, reliable repair kits for on-site interventions.
