Important usage notes Before using this product, ensure the hard drive is not encrypted. Encrypted drives may not be recognized when connected through this enclosure. This unit is designed for a single drive at a time. Do not attempt to use two hard disks simultaneously. Compatibility and purpose This hard drive case is suitable only for hard drives removed from the following MacBook Air models: 2010/2011 Air models A1369 and A1370 2012 Air models 1425, 1398, 1466, and 1465 It is intended to provide external access to these drives when connected to a computer. Mode switching for drive formats Switch to the 2011 mode to read 2011 hard disks. Switch to the 2012 mode to read 2012 hard disks. Use scenarios Data recovery: Remove the hard drive from a 2010/2011 or 2012 MacBook Air, connect it via this enclosure to a desktop or laptop to recover files. Data transfer and backup: Access the contents of a 2011 or 2012 Air hard drive to copy documents, photos, or other data to another storage device. Archive access: Store an old MacBook Air hard drive securely and access its data on demand by switching to the appropriate mode for 2011 or 2012 drives.
