Description

COTONEASTER Cornubia \nSometimes known as Cotoneaster frigidus. \n One of the largest of the Cotoneaster family, often forming a large bushy shrub or small tree. \nThe graceful, arching branches are clothed with long, pointed, mid/dark green leaves in summer and they take on a bronze tint in autumn. \nBeing  semi evergreen means Cotoneaster Cornubia only loses all its leaves in the very harshest of winters but fresh new foliage quickly reappears in spring. \nDuring June and July Cotoneaster Cornubia carries large clusters of small creamy-white flowers in great abundance and the blooms contrasting with the leaves is a wonderful sight. \nThe flowers are followed by bright red, pea sized, round berries also in clusters, so plentiful are the berries that the branches often bend under the weight of fruit. \nCotoneaster Cornubia is a great plant for wildlife, the flowers are a magnet for bees and wild birds love the berries. \nFast growing and fully hardy, this is an excellent specimen plant but it does need moderately fertile, well drained soil and plenty of room to give of its best. \nPrefers full sun but Cornubia will tolerate semi-shade. \nRoyal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM). \nAll pictures used are of mature plants in bloom, they are for illustration purposes only and may not reflect the plant at all times of the year. \nOur Cotoneaster plants are supplied ex. 10cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions \nPACK 1 PLANT \n IMMEDIATE \n \nLearn how to care for your new plant by following this guide. \nOur range of varieties is ever expanding, you can view some others by Other Cultivars \nWe ask all our buyers to remember Cotoneaster Cornubia are living plants and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.\n\nWe want you to be happy with your purchase and all our items are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem with your Cotoneaster please advise us at .  . Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. . . .
