A graphite impeller within the vacuum pump may fail, leading to vehicle performance issues. Water ingress can sometimes affect these pumps, but over time, the impeller on the motor spindle may break or shatter. A damaged impeller can result in insufficient air pressure or vacuum, impairing the function of the PSE pump. This may also cause the motor to jam, potentially blowing the 20A fuse and causing the pump to shut down.
