Due to the sharp and thin tip, do not overexert when punching; use a soft surface such as leather to protect it. It may become damaged if used on hard surfaces like cutting mats, especially in winter. To extend the life of the French style chisel, we do not recommend punching leather thicker than 3mm directly. When punching leather thicker than 3mm, punch separately from both the front and back sides, and pull straight out; do not pry to either side. This steel has good anti-rust properties, but it does not mean it will never rust. We suggest applying anti-rust oil when not in use for extended periods.
