Lactobacilli are considered to have a critical role in the maintenance of the vaginal ecosystem by preventing the excessive proliferation of indigenous microorganisms, which when they become dominant can induce disorders such as vaginosis. Likewise, they can prevent colonization by pathogens and the appearance of vaginitis and cervicitis, which could be complicated by involvement of regional structures such as the uterus and Bartholin's glands or even become a systemic infection.
Several mechanisms underlie the protection exerted by lactobacilli: competition for nutrients and tissue adherence, lowering of vaginal pH, modulation of immunity, and production of bioactive compounds.
In vaginal dysbiosis characterized by low numbers of vaginal lactobacilli and high levels of endogenous anaerobic bacteria, increased lactoferrin could act as an immune modulator, assuming the role normally played by healthy microbiota in the vaginal mucosa.

It is recommended to take 1 capsule a day with plenty of water.
