BBC micro:bit V2 features a faster ARM Cortex-M4 processor (nRF52833), integrated 2.4 GHz radio and Bluetooth 5.0, built-in MEMS microphone, speaker, and touch-sensitive logo button for intuitive sound and touch interaction. It includes a motion sensor combining a 3-axis accelerometer and magnetometer (usable as a compass or magnetic field sensor). RAM has increased from 16 KB to 128 KB, and flash memory from 256 KB to 512 KB. The CPU is upgraded from a 16 MHz Cortex-M0 to a 64 MHz Cortex-M4 with floating-point unit. Gold-edge connectors feature small indentations for secure crocodile clip attachment during prototyping. The board can supply up to 200 mA to external accessories (up from 90 mA in V1). Additional input is provided via the touch-sensitive logo, complementing the two programmable buttons. Designed by the BBC to support computing education for students aged 11 and up, the micro:bit V2 offers rich on-board resources: a 5×5 LED matrix, two user-programmable buttons, compass, USB interface, Bluetooth module, and more — all in a compact 5 × 4 cm form factor. The V2 adds a front-facing touch logo and MEMS microphone, plus a rear-mounted speaker for audio playback without external components. The gold-edge connector includes a gear-like design to improve alligator clip stability. Sleep mode is supported — activated by long-pressing the reset button to reduce power consumption.
