Waterproof: We're talking about putting your hands in the water and not getting them wet and being waterproof. So keep reaching into that ice cave and pulling out the giant-eyed beast. Heavy-duty construction: First, we take a Cordura nylon shell (not that thin nylon junk that will rip on the first use), then we put in a Hipora lining (that's what makes it waterproof, it's basically a Gore-Tex), then we have 70 grams of 3M Thinsulate and foam insulation (should keep these gloves warm), then a soft fleece lining. 4. Storage: You can never have enough pockets, so we added pockets on the back of the gloves. These pockets are large enough to hold a credit card, a hand warmer, or keys.
