SST3is a set of advanced technology and features supported by 802.11n, including LDPC, TxBF. The end-result is a ~+100% rate out of ranges in the short ranges, ~+50% in the middle ranges and ~+25% in the long ranges. It allows laptops and other computing platforms to run longer on a single battery while providing more than 300 Mbps of throughputs when used in 3x3mode.
